The Food Store
About
Our Food Store is a membership based community service supporting residents of Tower Hamlets with access to affordable food and essential welfare support. Membership is by referral through our trusted welfare partners, ensuring we reach those most in need. We offer a welcoming space where individuals and families can access nutritious groceries, receive guidance on benefits and services available, and find support to improve their well-being. Our goal is to reduce food insecurity and strengthen community resilience.
How it Works
Clients are referred by recognised welfare organisations to become members of Our Food Store. Once referred, members receive a membership that gives them access to a wide range of food and essential household items, including toiletries, baby and ladies’ products. Alongside this, members are supported with welfare advice and services, offering a vital stepping stone to help them get back on track.
Our Impact
Since the project creation, The Food Store has had a significant impact on our community. We have provided food, welfare support and other basic necessities to thousands of individuals in need, and we have helped countless others gain the skills and resources they need to improve their lives.
